In 2013, Jennifer Azevedo fell in love with a horse that inspired her to invent what is now The HAY SOAKER®. Her daughter was interested in riding so they started looking for a horse and found “Max” online. An off-the-track thoroughbred, his race name was “210 to Yuma".

Unfortunately, he was not in very good shape when she first went to look at him. Not only was he underweight with a poor quality hair coat, but he also appeared to have foundered in all four feet. He was still suffering from hoof abscesses, sole bruises, and stretched lamina. She immediately had him looked at and it was her farrier who suggested she try soaking his hay to help improve his feet.

Within four to six weeks of soaking his hay, she began to see a change for the better in his feet, his coat, and his overall body condition. However, hay soaking was a challenge.

“I just knew there had to be a way that I could do this reliably and make sure he was taken care of,” said Jen. “But there wasn’t anything available and that’s how and why I invented The Soaker. It was for him.”
